Community Sport & Recreation Centre
Whai is an Incorporated Society comprised of Foundation Member Clubs (Raukura Netball, Tysons Netball, Waitara High School, Waitara Gym Sports, Waitara Rugby League and Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa).
The Society was formed in 2013 to deliver the following purposes:
Facilitating and promoting a range of sporting, community & recreation opportunities for all ages, interests and abilities in the Waitara Community and its surrounding districts.
Providing a management and governance structure to streamline the delivery of sport, community and recreation in Waitara and the surrounding communities.
Assisting in the delivering of sustainable sport, community and recreation opportunities
To educate of the associated health benefits and further facilitate people to take part in sport, recreation and any other activity that is good for their health
The ongoing development and improvement of facilities for its member activities
