Our Vision

The North Taranaki Sport & Recreation Incorporated Society provides a collaborative environment that serves Waitara and its surrounding community, connecting our people and realising their potential so they can pursue their best lives and diverse interests.

Our Mission

Our mission is to deliver services and facilities for the people of North Taranaki which enable our vision. We will provide the opportunity for people to engage in varied sporting, community and recreational activities in a vibrant and modern space.

We will support our foundation and affiliate clubs to grow their membership base and develop club leaders in the facilitation and administration of their respective clubs, assisting with areas they identify as requiring help with.

Our services will be delivered from our base at Whai Tapuwae Nō Rongo (Clifton Park) in Waitara, a place known for producing top athletes in various codes.

We believe that:

  • Sport and recreation provides opportunities for people to improve their well-being.
  • Every person deserves the opportunity to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.
  • The physical and mental health of all citizens is a community .

A Sporting History and Future: Working Together in Waitara
